Dan Bordenkircher Daniel Bordenkircher

Dan Bordenkircher has a unique story of his journey to Beacon. As a resident of Leesburg for the past 30 years, Dan didn’t travel far geographically, but it was only 3 years ago that he was appropriately diagnosed with ADHD. With a diagnosis that explained his academic issues of the past and a renewed desire for a fulfilling career, Dan took a new look at Beacon. Read his story here.

Shia ByersShia Byers

Shia Byers is an active leader on campus, holding roles ranging from Resident Assistant to Student Government Association Representative. After graduation, she will begin a summer internship with The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). Learn more about Shia here.

 

Brian KaminskiBrian Kaminski

Brian Kaminski is a Computer Information Systems major, an entrepreneur, and a cancer survivor. He is as well known around campus for his constant sunny disposition as he is for the courage and resilience shown in the wake of a cancer diagnosis. Read more of Brian’s story here.

 

Chuck NovakChuck Novak

Chuck Novak is among the first students to graduate from Beacon with a degree in Studio Arts. His senior show “Everything But Me” will be on exhibit in the Kristin Michelle Mason Art Gallery through graduation. Read more about Chuck here.

 

Peter VolkovPeter Volkov

Peter Volkov is a various reader with an interest in subject areas ranging from history to literature to philosophy. With his degree in Psychology, Peter is exploring many possible career options. Learn more about Peter here.

 

Rachel YellonRachel Yellon

The day before graduation, Rachel Yellon will be presenting at the MAP Conference in Chicago, an academic accomplishment that she is justifiably proud of. A Human Services major, Rachel is contemplating working with children, something she grew to enjoy in her internship with a local elementary school. Read more about Rachel here.
