In the Field
Computer Information Systems major Zayvien Jones works on a project with a NetCOM Div27 mentor during the 2023 Career Immersion Program.
Javier Escudero cares for one of the dozens of lemur primates rescued by the Chase Sanctuary during his summer internship through the 2023 Beacon Career Immersion Program.
“The CIP internship is a wonderful experience, and I recommend it very strongly,” said Benjamin Strauss of his 2023 CIP internship at First Bump Media. “It was definitely worth three weeks of my summer.”
CIP students toured the Think In Print Shop with its owners to learn more about the design and production process for a variety of client projects and marketing collateral.
About the Program
Beacon’s Career Center staff provides up to 12 hours of career coaching to each CIP student throughout the program. Strategic student support is achieved through small group onboarding sessions, weekly onsite observations, and regular, daily check-ins with every student and CIP Partner.
Students learn to become self-sufficient through their practice in goal setting, career exploration, problem-solving, and effective communication — all critical skills for a successful transition into the workplace.
In addition to the professional development and experience of each internship site, the program includes several professional networking events, daily meetings with career center staff, and a community service project to establish the importance of team building and care for our local Leesburg community.
What are the dates?
May 13–31, 2024: Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested students should apply as soon as possible.
In 2023, CIP partners included: Cat Protection Society, Chase Rescue Sanctuary, Fistbump Media, Inc., Habitat for Humanity Lake-Sumter, Leesburg Historical Society & Museum, Leesburg Center for the Arts, PowerOne (and supporting partners NetCOM Div27 and Data Graphics), and The Brownwood Hotel and Spa. CIP also created a dual partnership between Beacon College Career Center and Think In Print Store in which Web and Digital Media majors developed print collateral that the Career Center exhibits at national conferences to cultivate new partnerships for Beacon College internships and early careers for Beacon graduates.
