Campus Security Policy and Statistics
Beacon College diligently strives to provide one of the safest possible academic environments for our students. Campus Safety Services works to sustain an environment that builds trust and enhances the quality of life for our community while minimizing criminal activity. We’re not only here to enforce but also to assist.
Campus Safety Services encourages all members of the Beacon community to educate themselves about the various types of criminal incidents occurring in the College’s patrol zone. The Campus Safety Services Office is located in the IT/Safety Building on West Meadow Street. A campus safety officer is on duty 24 hours a day and can be reached at 352-638-9799.
Reports
College reporting of crime statistics is frequently referred to as the “Clery Report.” Named after the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act, this federal law mandates the disclosure of certain statistics regarding criminal incidents that occur within the geographical boundaries of an institution of higher education. The state of Florida also mandates similar requirements under the state law.
