The CSS Annex Office Assistant performs a wide variety of tasks, including standard clerical duties such as managing student sign-in and sign-out, and organizing and sanitizing the common areas (lounge and coffee area).
Pay Rate and Length: $12/hr. One Semester/Fall 2024/Spring 2025

- Monday-Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Position Overview:
Office assistant performs a wide variety of tasks in their daily work. This usually includes standard clerical duties such as managing student sign-in and sign-out, organized and sanitized the common areas (lounge and coffee area).
Primary Functions:
- Operate within the guidelines and boundaries of confidentiality and FERPA compliance.
- Assisting Learning Specialist and students with tasks and information.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Student Management
- Greet visitors, providing them with information and directing them to the appropriate locations or offices on campus.
- Greeting and making sure students sign-in and out
- Student support: provide support to students working in the lounge. If they need more help, refer them to any available LS.
- Administrative support: provide support to other staff members in preparing communications, such as memos, flyers, etc., as well as photocopying.
- Organizing the lounge area space (chairs, tables, sanitizing, etc.)
- Monitoring the level of office supplies and restock copy machine paper, emptying the shredder, hand sanitizers in the lounge and sign-in table.
- Equipment and technical support: maintaining office equipment and providing basic technical support for students.
- Data entry: enter Open Learning attendance daily
- Plants: water plants on Monday and Thursday at the end of the night shift.
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Communication skills in person, via phone and in writing.
- Skills at organizing space and materials
- Time management skills, reliability
- Must be proficient at Microsoft Office
- Motivation to help a diverse population of students succeed academically
- Must be professional and courteous to students, faculty, and learning specialists.
- Adept at working independently, as well as working with others in a team environment.
- Maintain good academic and social standing at Beacon College (GPA 3.0 or above; no disciplinary warnings in the semester preceding application).
