Nichols, Sheryl Three Beacon College administrators this month moved into new positions.

Sheryl Nichols, formerly director of the Center for Student Success, was named associate vice president of student engagement and success at the Leesburg, Fla. liberal arts school. 

In this role, Nichols will supervise the college’s Student Affair teams and oversee the Center for Student Success.

Prior to joining Beacon College in 2015 as an admissions counselor, Nichols served as director of admissions at DeVry University. She is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta in New York, where she majored in business economics. She holds a master’s degree in human services counseling and an education specialist degree in educational psychology from Regent University in Virginia Beach. She will be an ABD by the end of August.

“My academic and professional career has been dedicated to engaging, inspiring and mentoring college students of all ages, so I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to lead the division of Student Affairs and Center for Student Success,” Nichols said. “I look forward to continuing to work with President [George] Hagerty and the Beacon College leadership as we empower our students not to ‘make do,’ but to make, to do, to dream and to be the most that they can be.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Oksana Hagerty takes over as director for student success. She will supervise the college’s learning specialists and run the day-to-day operations of the Center for Student Success at America’s first accredited baccalaureate school dedicated to educating students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and other learning differences.

Before her stint at Beacon, Hagerty, an educational and developmental psychologist, served as an education program consultant to University Advisors International, Inc. an investment and consulting firm that provides counsel to higher-education institutions, non-governmental organizations, and corporations on four continents. For 12 years, she served as an associate professor at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University [Ukraine].  

Greenstein, Kerry Hagerty earned bachelor’s and specialist degrees (equivalent to a U.S. master’s degree) with highest honors in applied psychology and English as a foreign language from Dnipropetrovsk National University in Ukraine. She holds a Ph.D. in educational and developmental psychology from Kharkiv National University in Ukraine.

Dr. Kerry Greenstein, who previously served as dean of student affairs, was named director of strategic program finance and oversight. In addition to those duties, he will teach First-Year Experience. Previously, Greenstein served as associate dean of students for student advocacy at Georgia Southern University. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Rider University, a master’s degree from the University of Delaware, and an Ed.D from Georgia Southern University.
