Runners race off at the start of the Third Annual Beacon College Navigators 5K Run or Walk.
Beacon College students and staffers’ fingerprints were all over the Third Annual Beacon College 5K Run or Walk Saturday as two students finished first and second and a Beacon staffer was a top-three female finisher.
Giulian Spino, a Beacon student, recorded the race’s overall best finish (21:51), while classmate Conner Ezell finished second overall (22:13).
The top female finisher, Jenifer Matheny, clocked in at 26.26. Erin Bisanti, executive assistant to the provost, finished second among female competitors.
The annual event benefits programs at Beacon College. The nonprofit liberal arts school in Leesburg, Fla. is America’s first college or university accredited to award bachelor’s degrees primarily to students with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.
