The popular feature, described at OrlandoSentinel.com as a podium where “Central Florida’s most influential people weigh in on current events,” allows newsmakers and opinion-makers to discourse, preach, harangue and persuade readers on the most compelling stories of the week and also predict the biggest headline-grabbing stories the following week.
“Dr. Marsden not only brings to the fold a thoughtful, bold and passionate voice steeped in the psychological trade, but also seasons our intellectual stew with a Lake County regional flavor,” says Michael Joe Murphy, digital conversation starter and Central Florida 100 Editor for the Orlando Sentinel Media Group.
Marsden, an assistant professor of human services and psychology at Beacon College in Leesburg, Fla. — the first accredited college to award bachelor’s degrees primarily to students with learning disabilities and ADHD — joins a group that includes such local notables as Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Florida Senate President Andy Gardiner, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs, and attorney John Morgan.
