Position Reports to: Director of Transportation
Specific Responsibilities: The Transportation Manager shall be responsible for performing the following functions and activities:
- Assisting with the coordination and oversight of transportation services for the College;
- Maintaining high visibility on campus and interacting effectively with all members of the college community;
- Maintaining a strong customer service orientation with students, parents, faculty and staff;
- Assisting Student Affairs and the Fitness Center, and other College personnel as requested;
- Keeping current with best practices in campus transportation;
- Assisting with FDOT reports as required;
- Assisting with completion of Annual Reports as required by SACSCOC;
- Assisting with grant writing and grant administration;
- Serving students as they request shuttle services to the airport, medical appointments, career placements, grocery shuttles, and including dealing with parents and students, and accepting payments;
- Assisting with maintaining safety records;
- Maintaining records in a timely manner;
- Serving as a driver when needed;
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip safety and inspection of vehicles and logging information;
- Enforcing the College’s Student Code of Conduct and reporting violations in writing to the Director of Student Citizenship and Integrity;
- Logging shuttle trips, mileage, and Code of Conduct violations;
- Providing medical transportation and inclement weather transportation as needed;
- Assisting with supervision of transportation drivers (hiring, running backgrounds checks in cooperation with Human Resources, conducting annual evaluations);
- Becoming familiar with all college policies and procedures, and complying with these policies and procedures;
- Serving on College committees as needed;
- Attending all professional development activities, and other meetings as called by the President, or the Provost;
- Participating in College functions such as orientation, graduation, open houses, fundraising, and community relations as needed;
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Class “A” or “B” CDL Driver’s License with “Passenger” endorsement.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Current Medical Examiners Certificate.
- Be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Subject to background and driving record check.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
- Experience in driving all types of buses preferred
