Job Title: Studio Technician/Lab Monitor

Pay Rate and Length: $11/hr. One Semester – Fall 2023/Spring 2024

Position Overview:
Studio Technicians/Lab Monitors assist students and faculty in improving and upkeep of the studio space and equipment. Technicians will also work with students to review proper use of tools, construct needed studio fixtures, and work with faculty on a variety of studio improvements.
Primary Functions:
Hold open studio hours to assist faculty in studio improvements, organization and upkeep.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist Studio Art faculty with the upkeep of shop equipment.
- Monitor student use of facilities during homework hours.
- Assist with the fabrication of special studio projects.
- Assist with the inventory and ordering of materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe shop and studio environment.
- Report unsafe shop practices to faculty.
- Assist with special events (i.e. exhibition set up, workshops, etc.).
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must have taken and successfully completed Art 1500 3D Fundamentals and Art 2701 Sculpture I
