No doubt you have been monitoring closely the situation in Florida as it relates to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state, county, and local officials have triggered safety protocols to reduce the spread of the illness and marshal resources for support.
The Beacon Critical Response Team continues to convene and monitor events and adjust strategies as needed.
Currently, at the college, we will continue normal class and business operations until the scheduled March break, with instruction concluding on Friday.
As no classes are scheduled for next week, the campus will be closed for all but administrative purposes. Students will be required to vacate campus residences during the spring break period and there will be no food service available.
Over the course of the next several days, the CRT will convene prior to issuing an update to students regarding information that may be forthcoming during the spring break regarding a return to campus for classes on March 23.
At this time, we do not anticipate any change in the college calendar or instructional schedule.
