It’s not every day that a U.S. Congressman graces the halls of Beacon College, but last Friday was one of those rare moments.
Rep. Daniel Webster, who represents the 10th District of Florida, which includes Leesburg, visited the campus Feb. 5 to congratulate Beacon’s vigorous campaign to revitalize Leesburg through campus beautification efforts, an effort that culminated in the Leesburg Partnership recognizing the college’s efforts with its Beautification Award.
Congressman Webster, who arrived on campus in the middle of the winter meeting of the Board of Trustees, shared gracious words, bestowed a proclamation upon President George Hagerty, and posed for a Kodak moment with Dr. Hagerty, several faculty and staffers, and trustee members.
We appreciate Congressman Webster taking time out of his busy schedule to recognize how Beacon College not only continues “illuminating the life abundant” collegially, but also in our community.
