Zamaie Chinye For better or worse, the Internet has democratized sharing ideas and influencing hearts on a global scale at the speed of a mouse click.

Zamaie Chinye craved a piece of the action.

Rather, Chinye, a writer, blogger, full-time student at Beacon College in Leesburg, Fla., and owner of the creative lifestyle blog ZamaieWrites, wanted to give others craving the opportunity to speak up and be heard — but uncomfortable with treading in virtual space — the support they needed to share their voices.

She found the perfect vehicle to carry her passion last October when she stumbled upon a Facebook group called Blogging Buddies.

Chinye reached out and Blogging Buddies reached back with an opportunity — anointing her a member of its website creative design team.

The Blog Buddy Program Creative Team, according to its website, “is dedicated to bringing the blogging community together by better networking, collaboration, and supporting each other with friendship.”

The online portal provides forums, monthly activities, and resources for members. It also allows members to search for suitable “Blogging Buddies” or to be assigned one by completing a blog profile.

As part of the creative team, she assists with “the development of the program’s website and design graphics based on its branding guidelines,” said Chinye, 21, of Dacula, Ga, a junior majoring in web and digital media at America’s first accredited baccalaureate school dedicated to educating primarily students with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

It’s not currently a paid position, but she said that in the near future it would be.

In the meantime, her involvement with Blog Buddy has already paid off, she said.

“Because of my involvement in the Blog Buddy Program, I’ve been able to learn more about what goes into developing websites powered by WordPress, among other things,” Chinye said.
