The Beacon Navigators basketball club was game, however, in its two games this weekend at the 2018 NIRSA Regional Basketball Championship the squad ran into stiff competition.
The tournament, hosted by Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., featured 21 college club teams. The Navigators faced Valdosta State University and Georgia Southern University.
Although sophomore Kelvin Dent pumped in 15 points against Valdosta State University, the Navigators lost 109-24. The Navigators improved their offensive output against Georgia State, falling 111-37. Dent again paced the squad with 14 points.
Next, the Navigators travel to Gainesville for the Swamp Shoot Basketball Tournament hosted by the University of Florida. The tourney runs March 23-25.
