The Communicator Awards honor excellence in strategic, effective, and meaningful communication across digital, video, podcasts, marketing, mobile, print, and more. It is considered the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for marketing and communications professionals.

Beacon College netted a gold Award of Excellence — the competition’s top prize — in the Film/Video-Self Promotion category for “Beacon College Makes ‘A World of Difference’.” The monthly television program is produced by Beacon College, the nation’s first accredited baccalaureate institution dedicated to educating students who learn differently, and it celebrates and supports families rearing children with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

The show also collected a pair of silver Awards of Distinction in the Film/Video-Low Budget and the Film/Video-Social Issues/Responsibility categories.

“Celebrating and supporting families that are raising children who learn differently is the goal of ‘A World of Difference’ and we’re proud and grateful for the acclaim the show has garnered in its maiden season,” said Darryl E. Owens, Beacon’s director of communications. “The trio of awards are an affirming nod to the innovative and impactful tools that our communications team continues to create to share our expertise in the learning and attention issues space with the global world beyond Beacon’s Leesburg campus.”

Judged and managed by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), the 2021 Communicator Awards fielded more than 6,000 entries. Featured Award of Excellence winners included UFC, PepsiCo, Forbes, BoxMedia, WWE, Microsoft, Code Red. GmbH, Comcast, and Disney Creative Studios.
