The rich achievements – and future aspirations – of students who learn differently often go unrecognized. We have created this scholarship to financially reward their successes and encourage their dreams. Beacon’s Bright Minds Scholarships recognize and reward college-bound seniors who have a diagnosed learning difference.
This scholarship is awarded to students in good academic standing who have a demonstrated interest in improving the world around them through their unique way of thinking, communicating, or overcoming obstacles. Students can be awarded up to $10,000 per year, up to a total of $40,000.
Application Deadline: June 1, 2021
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all awards are granted.
How do I apply?
In order to apply, students will need to complete our online Bright Minds Scholarship application. Be prepared to provide:
- Step 1 of the Beacon College Application for Admission
- Your Unofficial High School Transcript (your most recent academic transcript, including final grades from the semester prior to your Bright Minds Scholarship application)
- Written Response: Explain a time when your unique way of thinking helped you solve a problem, achieve a goal (either individually or as a group), or contributed to the betterment of your classroom, family, or community.
To receive these scholarships, you ultimately must complete your Application for Admission, be admitted, and enroll at Beacon College.
Is this a renewable scholarship?
Yes, your Beacon Bright Minds Scholarships will be applied each year toward the cost of attendance for up to four years, as long as you maintain full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress. The maximum amount a student can receive from the Bright Minds Scholarships is $40,000 over four years. These funds are in addition to other financial aid for which you qualify.
We invite you to nominate your neurodiverse students to apply for our Bright Minds Scholarships. Your nomination will add a one-time $500 award if the student is selected and enrolls at Beacon.
