Together in Strength: Supporting our California Community
As the wildfires continue to ravage communities across California, particularly in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, we are deeply saddened by the devastation experienced by so many. Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to ashes, thousands have been displaced, and lives have been tragically lost. Whether you’ve directly experienced loss, or are worried about loved ones, this is a difficult and emotional time. Our thoughts are with all who have been affected by this disaster, especially our students, alumni, and their loved ones from California.
In the face of such adversity, it’s inspiring to witness the resilience and strength of the California community. From firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to save lives, to neighbors and organizations rallying together to offer support, we are reminded of the power of unity and hope in times of hardship.
As a college, we are committed to standing with you. We encourage those affected to reach out if you need assistance — be it emotional support, academic flexibility, or other resources during this time. Our counseling services are here to help, and faculty are ready to work with you to navigate challenges.
For our alumni and friends who wish to offer support, consider contributing to wildfire relief efforts through trusted organizations or volunteering your time to assist displaced families. Every gesture of kindness helps rebuild lives and communities.
Please know you are not alone. The Beacon family is here to support you and will continue to stand with all who are impacted by these fires. Together, we will rise from this tragedy stronger than ever.
With hope and compassion,
President George J. Hagerty
