About Susan Martin

Susan Martin, MBA-HRM, SPHR, serves as the chief of staff and the chief of human resources officer. She oversees the HR division responsible for employee relations, recruiting, benefits, regulatory compliance, and more.

Prior to joining Beacon, Martin served as the vice president of Human Resources and DEI for Rasmussen University where she oversaw both the HR team and DEI services. Previous to Rasmussen, she served Saint Leo University in expanding HR roles including associate vice president where she oversaw employee relations, compliance, payroll, benefits, grant administration and Title IX. She also created strategic plans and operational growth goals, and she managed the HR department budget and the university staff budget. She served in a crucial role in partnering with the university’s technology team to ensure a smooth transition to remote work during the pandemic. She also implemented several staff professional development programs, and she introduced the university’s first formal performance review and improvement planning process.

Martin is certified as a Senior Profession in Human Resources, and she has received advanced training as a Title IX coordinator and a Title IX civil rights investigator.
