The General Education Division is currently recruiting for a faculty member to teach mathematics courses designed for improving the skills of students with mathematics disorders. We seek a dedicated hands-on instructor who is willing to work one-on-one and in a group classroom setting. The position requires planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction with use of the ALEKS program.

The Instructor provides direct instruction and hands-on learning to create an engaging educational environment, monitors and assesses student progress, provides substantive feedback, working collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, student learning support and student success. The workload consists of four fall courses, four spring courses, and one four-week summer course, as well as participating in service to the community. The Instructor will also be scheduled to provide student assistance in the Mathematics Lab.

Qualifications:
Requires a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in mathematics. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach mathematics one-on-one to a group of students with differing abilities. Experience working with students with learning disabilities/ADHD is preferred, and possessing the requisite patient professional demeanor is required.
