Position Overview:
Educating About Animals Peer Tutor will take interest in the class and adequately prepare as needed using the source materials in order to better serve the instructors and students. The PT will help students understand the source materials by answering questions and providing office hours of inquiry outside of the classroom weekly. The PT may make their own schedule.
Primary Functions:
They will provide academic support outside of the classroom. They will report back any struggles or issues students may be having, and act in a respectful and professional matter at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Peer Tutot must be punctual when reporting to office hours and be knowledgeable about what the instructor is teaching from week to week. PT will report to the instructor and let them know of any concerns or problems they have experienced outside of the classroom with student(s) as necessary.
Requirements:
Peer Tutor must complete Educating About Animals with a C+ or better prior to becoming a PT. Any grade lower than a C+ must conference with Mr. Cushing. PT must demonstrate maturity, a willingness to help other students, patience, and academic interest in and familiarity with the course material that the instructor will present.
