E-sports Assistant

Job title: E-sports Assistant
Position type: Part-time
Pay rate and length: $11/hr. One semester Spring 2023

Reports to: Kyle Close/Gabe Watson

Position overview:
Earn valuable work experience to gain a competitive edge for future internships and employment opportunities.

Primary functions:

  • Maintain a safe environment for participants
  • Help promote a healthy and active lifestyle as well as good sportsmanship to students
  • Be able to set up for video game programming in the appropriate facilities
  • Have a clear understanding of the rules of each e-sport and the policies of the Fitness and Recreation Department
  • Be proficient with scheduling and bracket creating
  • Be able to diffuse any arguments among players
  • Maintain a high level of integrity with anything relating to Fitness and Recreation Department
  • Be able to handle an emergency medical situation and notify the Professional Staff in a timely manner
  • Report any issues with equipment, facilities, or participants to the Professional Staff


  • A strong work ethic
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
  • Have a passion for fitness, healthy living, sports, and/or video games
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Have strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • A positive attitude
  • A willingness to improve skills and learn from the experience
  • A willingness to work with anyone, especially your co-workers
