The Business and Technology Department is currently recruiting for a faculty member to teach Web and Digital Media courses. We seek a dedicated hands-on instructor who is willing to work one-on-one and in group classroom setting needed.
Beacon College is seeking qualified candidates with demonstrated academic skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our collegians. This position is a full-time, 10-month position, with compensation distributed, if desired, over a 12-month period. The Instructor/Assistant Professor provides direct instruction and hands on learning to create an engaging educational environment, monitors and assesses student learning outcomes, provides substantive feedback, working collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, and learning support. Workload consists of five 3-credit courses in the fall and spring, as well as participating in service to the community. The exact courses will be determined by the Department Chair.
Requires an M.A. for the Instructor level, but prefer a terminal degree. M.F.A. for the Assistant Professor level with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Web and Digital Media. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching courses designed for improving student skill and knowledge required for professional employment. Candidate must be dedicated to our student population. Must use hands-on, direct instruction in classroom and one-on-one settings. Experience working with students with learning disabilities/ADHD is preferred, and possessing the requisite patient professional demeanor is required. The candidate will need to have knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, HTML, and CSS.
