Job Description
The teacher’s assistant (TA) will attend all classes on time each week to assist the instructor with tasks during the class, including aiding students with coursework, portfolio content development, and assisting with the use of all learned Adobe Software throughout the class period. The TA will also assist the instructor with additional tasks as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge of all Adobe Creative Suite software taught at Beacon College for all Design and Digital Media required courses.
- Prior completion of the Portfolio Seminar design course is required.
- Review course materials prior to class.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and assist students with Adobe software.
- Aid in assisting with the facilitation of in-class activities while staying aware of students in need.
- Support students in developing design work and assist with course content.
- Encourage student participation.
- Review course materials with the instructor prior to the day of class to ensure you are well-versed in the material being taught.
- Assist instructor in facilitating course delivery.
- Arrive in a timely manner and attend all class sessions.
- Set up 1 hour a week of office hours to assist students in a professional on-campus setting during business hours.
- Foster a positive learning environment for students.
- Support student learning and success.
- Ensure timely feedback with accuracy.
Skills and Qualifications
The position will call for a knowledgeable Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Portfolio Seminar course, with proficiency in all Beacon College taught Adobe Software; students must also have completed the Portfolio Seminar course. Must have excellent communication skills to explain concepts, give feedback, and conduct critiques effectively. Patience that can be provided individually in class and during office hours is important to build a comfortable learning environment while working with course students. Provide also a strong collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching assistant position held and fluent experience in Adobe software.
