Position Overview
The qualifying candidate will be knowledgeable concerning theories guiding contemporary practices in behavioral husbandry and diversity of enrichment practices. Applications of theory will be examined as it pertains to the development of modern animal training programs.

Primary Functions
TA will help regulate and orient the classroom at the direction of the instructor, will be called to at times aid in assessment of students within the classroom setting, and will play an active role in practicals. TA’s goal will be to mitigate frustration, anxiety, or harm especially on the animals’ behalf when working with new trainers and ultimately facilitate benevolent relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties

Requirements
TA will have already taken Animal Training and Theory of Behavior (previously Animal Training and Enrichment) and passed with a grade no less than a B average. Student must demonstrate appropriate tone and set boundaries for and with students. TA must have a good working relationship with present animal collection and operant and classical conditioning methods and terminology. the employment position.
