Job Description
The Admissions Student Ambassador position offers students a dynamic opportunity to develop professional skills in marketing and social media, outreach, and administrative support. Ambassadors serve as enthusiastic representatives of Beacon College, helping to promote the college’s mission, engage prospective students and families, and support the Admissions Office in key recruitment efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Admissions Student Ambassador duties are divided into three core categories:
Marketing and Social Media
Under the guidance of the Enrollment Marketing Coordinator, ambassadors will:
- Create engaging content for Beacon College’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for campaigns and student-focused messaging
- Highlight campus life, student experiences, and events through photos, short-form videos, and written posts
- Be featured in content on the admissions accounts
Outreach
Ambassadors will likely participate in:
- Campus tours for prospective students and families
- Open House events
- Student panels and Q&A sessions
- Virtual events and webinars
- Phone calls to prospective students
Administrative Support
In collaboration with the admissions team, ambassadors may be asked to assist with:
- Data entry, mailings, and organization of recruitment materials
- Maintaining inventory of promotional items and printed materials
- Office operations and special projects as needed

- Willingness to lead or assist with campus tours and participate in student panels

- Maintains confidentiality when handling admissions-related information
Marketing and Social Media Skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and similar channels
- Basic content creation skills
- Taking photos and videos
- Writing short captions or posts
- Familiarity with design platforms like Canva, Adobe, etc.
- Creativity and willingness to contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions
- Understanding of how to showcase campus life and student experience authentically
- Comfort appearing on camera (preferred, not required)
Administrative and Organizational Skills
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, data entry, file organization)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently
- Organizational skills for managing materials, inventory, and mailings
Personal Qualifications
- Current Beacon College student in good academic standing
- Genuine enthusiasm for Beacon College’s mission and student experience
- Interest in careers related to:
- Marketing
- Communications
- Admissions/ Student Affairs
- Willingness to learn and receive feedback
- Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and fellow ambassadors
Preferred Qualifications
- Involvement in campus organizations, leadership roles, or events
- Experience with social media for a club, organization, or personal brand
- Customer service or peer-facing experience
- Interest in storytelling, content creation, or digital marketing
