Beacon College continued its streak of landing in the top-tier of U.S. colleges and universities for educating students with disabilities as two higher-Ed evaluating services ranked Beacon No. 1 and No. 3 respectively in new polls judging schools with disability programs.
Two years ago, Best Value Schools graded Beacon tops in its “20 Best Value Colleges for Students with Learning Disabilities 2017-2018” ranking. In its 2019 follow-up, Best Value Schools again judged Beacon College No. 1.
As Best Value Schools put it, “When it comes to the best colleges for students with learning disabilities, none holds a candle to Beacon College. As the first accredited school in the nation to cater exclusively to undergraduates with learning differences (including ADHD and dyslexia), Beacon is in a class all by itself.”
Beacon bested Landmark College and Mitchell College for top honors on the Best Value Schools list.
“Employees of Beacon College are well aware of the great work being done and the progress seen in our students,” said Dr. Shelly Chandler, provost of Beacon College. “Our outcome measures reinforce what we witness each day, and now our rankings in national polls confirm that we are a great choice for students who learn differently. The rankings also inspire us to continue creating and improving our innovative strategies and programs.”
Similarly, Beacon College a nonprofit, private liberal arts school and America’s first accredited baccalaureate institution to educate primarily students with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences shined in a second national poll with a larger pool of candidates.
Great Value Schools analyzed lists of disability-friendly colleges to ascertain the most consistent high performers and conducted independent research to compile its list of the nation’s top 50 colleges for students with disabilities.
Beacon College ranked No. 3.
As Great Value Colleges put it: “Seven different sources name Beacon College as one of the best colleges for students with disabilities. Beacon’s specialized approach has seen results, with strong numbers to back its education up. [Seventy] percent of students have an on-time graduation rate, and 83.5 percent of graduates secure employment or graduate school placement.”
