Career Development Program
![]() At Beacon College, students have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience that supports them in defining career goals. Internships in the local community help students understand their strengths and how they relate to career choices. Investigating options and exploring appropriate career choices maximizes strengths while minimizing weaknesses and contributes to a successful transition from college. In the Career Development Program, students develop a transitional plan while taking courses in Culture of the Workplace. This action plan is an important part of determining a student's career path. Some students may also develop a transitional plan for graduate school and are assisted by an academic advisor in finding the graduate program that best suits their professional and educational goals. Beacon students and graduates have 24/7 access to a valuable online tool called the Job and Career Accelerator. It offers assistance with resume building, assessment and career-matching, and interactive software to prepare students for the interviewing process. The database provides real-time access to available job opportunities specific to location and areas of interest.
