To apply for financial aid, you must complete a minimum of three steps:
- Complete the admission process at Beacon College
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Review and follow up on errors or omissions identified in your Student Aid Report (SAR)
- * Students applying for a scholarship must also complete the Student Scholarship Agreement
You must be accepted for admission to an eligible degree program at Beacon College before an offer of financial assistance can be made.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), an Internet application form that can be completed at no cost on the U.S. Department of Education website http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. You should be aware that some commercial firms have websites that charge you a fee to submit your information to the Federal government for you.
Our Title IV School Code is: 033733
You can expect to receive your Student Aid Report within a few days after completing the FAFSA online. Upon receipt of your SAR, please read the cover letter carefully to see if the Federal processor detected any errors or omissions. Careful college financial aid planning is important as mistakes may prevent Beacon from processing your financial aid package and sending you an award letter. The most common mistake is the student or parent forgets to sign the application. You should also re-check all financial data you provided for accuracy. Incorrect financial data can affect the federal computation of your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Make any needed corrections directly online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
If you do not receive your SAR within two weeks after filing your FAFSA, check the status online or call (800) 433-3243.
