The world can be your classroom.
The world today is a much smaller place. The Internet, economical transport, faster travel times and complex trade agreements have helped to create a global marketplace. Travel abroad was always desirable for a well-rounded education; today it’s virtually essential.
Beacon’s international cultural studies program is offered during the Summer Term. Participants will gain global perspective through this life-changing experience. Travel abroad offers new intellectual challenges, opportunity to build deeper friendships, new understanding of guiding principles and a chance to lay the groundwork for new dreams and ambitions.
Previous global learning and travel abroad programs have visited:
Our June 2017 Travel Abroad program will visit Japan for a cultural experience touring Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. We will be studying the customs, religions, and foods of Japan, plus the impact of the atomic bomb. The trip is sold out.
Our upcoming Travel program will visit Alaska for a science-based trip, stopping in Fairbanks, Denali National Park, Talkeena, Anchorage, Portage and Seward. Students, family members, friends and alumni interested in this trip may view the itinerary and sign up through Explorica or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
