Dr. Kirk Stowe is our professor of biology here at Beacon College. In addition to being a full-time editor for the International Journal of Modern Botany, he recently completed guest editing a special issue for the journal. The topic of the special issue was the tolerance of plants to herbivore damage, which refers to the ability of plants to grow and reproduce despite herbivore damage. This is an especially important trait in crop plants. The special issue included five papers, one by Dr. Stowe and four others by internationally recognized scientists, or groups of scientists. It also includes a preface introducing the topic by Dr. Stowe.
